Not Quite Ready to Leave

It's almost time to leave Santiago and Spain. It was an amazing thing to run into people we had met on the trail here in Santiago. There is a certain fraternity that is formed by those who do this.

But we weren't quite ready to leave yet. After dinner we went back down into the Cathedral square to sing and dance with the others there and listen to the music. As you can see, our own Kathleen and Kayla were two of the stars of the evening!

See you all in a day or so!

  1. You must be exhausted at this time of night. Hardly worth going to bed.
A good and uneventful trip back to all of you.
We are so ready to hear all your stories.

  6. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and comments. For me this pilgrimage was a culmination of many events over the past two years coming together as I continue on my camino in life. Yes, many of us met other pilgrims and shared stories with eachother. Yes, on that final night in Santiago as we listened to the Spanish group I was overwhelmed with feelings of joy! Watching Kathleen and then Kaela dance with such delight gave me the greatest joy. As I watched them I looked around and saw a young woman I met on the trail, Hollie saw someone she met and Tyler saw someone he met. The man Hollie met was dancing with the woman I met. It was amazing to me. It was very surreal. The entire experience was amazing! Barbara commented once that some people would come back different people. I must say that this amazing group of people I walked with was a changing group over the week in all great ways. They each shared with each other, they each worked through challenges together, they laughed, some cried(I had several of those moments......but it "was all good") and ultimately I believe that we all grew in some way or another. I am forever blessed for this experience and forever grateful for all of the pilgrims; pilgrims before us, pilgrims with us on the camino and the thirteen other pilgrims with me on the way to St. James. Some of us had "camino moments" during the week and for others they may have thier moments in the days or weeks ahead. As I realized on this journey we are all truely pilgrims in life and we all have our camino moments in our lives at any any given time. Those moments are the big and small ones. They all are important in the lives of each other and in the life you live.
